ANOTHER new Leisure Centre for Barnet!

GLL Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre is the second new centre this year for the London Borough of Barnet. They’ve invested massively in leisure in the borough, and these two sites are a major part of that. The council was supported by Sport England and the National Lottery who provided a total of £2million between this site and its sister centre at New Barnet – which we also worked on, and featured in a previous post. As with the centre in New Barnet, the site will be operated by GLL. 

As networking experts, Trusol provided all the data infrastructure, comprising around 250 points internally and externally (with excellent provision for electric vehicles, with charging points in the car park). As well as all the data work, we completed the aerials and TV network, and sound systems for two group exercise spaces. 

Virtual classes in one of the studios – both scheduled and on-demand – are provided by a Wexer kiosk, with automated video and sound systems to ensure customers always get the best virtual experience. 

Located at strategic positions around the site are four TRUscreen Digital Signage screens that deliver vital information and promotional content.

To complete – and ‘zone’ the fitness suite – there’s colour-changing LED strip lights and wash lights to differentiate the cardio, free weights and functional areas.

A New Leisure Centre for New Barnet

New Barnet Leisure is a new build site operated by GLL on behalf of the London Borough of Barnet. Opened last month, it’s part of a £45million investment by the council in local leisure provision, and is going to be a sure-fire hit with the local residents. Trusol completed all the data infrastructure, comprising of around 250 points internally and externally (with excellent provision of electric charging points in the car park.)
As well as all the data work, we completed the aerials and TV network, and sound systems for two group exercise spaces. Virtual classes are provided by a Wexer kiosk in one of the fitness studios, with both scheduled and on-demand content. The video and sound systems are automated to ensure customers always get the best virtual experience. We located four TRUscreen digital signage screens at strategic positions around the site to deliver information and promotional content.
Finally, to complete the fitness suite there are colour-changing LED wash lights to differentiate the cardio, free weights and functional areas.

Trusol at Vauxhall Leisure Centre, The Atlas

We’re proud to be helping fit out another state-of-the-art GLL gym, Vauxhall Leisure Centre. Located just a five-minute walk from Vauxhall Station, in a prestigious new London landmark – known as The Atlas.

Designed to as student residences for King’s College London, The Atlas takes student living to a whole new level – literally – with a stunning 31st storey roof terrace.

The leisure centre occupies the basement, ground and first floors of the building with a wide range of services designed and installed by Trusol.

In the virtual group cycling studio – we installed automated audio, video and lighting systems. The class content is supplied by Wexer, the leaders in virtual fitness. These virtual classes are controlled from a Wexer tablet, allowing members to select their preferred classes on demand.

The centre has a range of smarter digital signage screens – serving different areas of the gym with relevant, varied content, over three discrete signage channels. The design, installation, and content delivery are all managed by Trusol. All the TV screens, including the Technogym cardio units are fed by an IPTV system for the best picture quality.

It’s never just about the visuals – we didn’t neglect the audio; installing foreground music systems in the two fitness studios and group cycle studio, and background music systems for the 100 station gym, general areas and the 25m pool.

Wireless entertainment is brilliant, from pairing your Netflix account to your TV to connecting your iPod to your speakers the possibilities are endless, which is why we’re thrilled about the latest app technology which allows your customers to enjoy the TV audios on their phone from screens installed anywhere within the facility.

How does it work?

App audio is an app which is available to download on iTunes & Google play, making it easier for your customers to download the app and get connected to the screens. The AppAudio system allows you to stream audio from any audio source, including TV monitors, over Wi-Fi to patron’s smartphones and tablets. Ideal for any venue with multiple, competing broadcast sources and people who want to hear clear audio from one or more speakers, TV monitors or digital signs.

Where can it be used?

The Audio app is recommended for the following environments however there are no limits to where it can be used!

  • Health and Fitness Clubs
  • Sports Bars and Restaurants
  • Casinos, Hotels, Cruise Ships
  • Churches, Community Centres
  • Airport Waiting Areas

How does it benefit you?

As well as being an awesome app which allows your customers to listen to the audio from your screens, the app allows you to engage and communicate with your audience through marketing messages on your screens. With the use of mixed channel marketing, companies are able to use video messages between advert breaks and start-ups. This is brilliant news for gyms or leisure centres who wish to make announcements such as special offers and promotions. The app is fully customisable and allows companies to showcase their branding on it.

GLL – Digital Signage

Trusol Leisure has worked on a Digital Signage upgrade for GLL Better. We have a bespoke cloud-based solution for GLL with branded templates and setups and a bespoke Poster Digital training manual.

The challenge of this project was to ensure that multiple sites were upgraded to the new Cloud Digital signage platform and all screens were delivered the streamed content.

Trusol Leisure remotely manages the content delivered from GLL’s head office central marketing team to ensure that great content is delivered to GLL’s customers. Currently, we remotely manage 25 centers which deliver over 90 screens across GLL’s estate.

Better Extreme Parks

We have worked closely with Better Extreme Parks production team to design a bespoke hardware and software solution whereby we install video walls into the Better Extreme Parks to be used for Safety briefing, cross selling & marketing of GLL products and most importantly a countdown timer function so that the Extreme sessions can be controlled.

THE CHALLENGE

Pavilion Leisure Centre

THE CHALLENGE
• A large leisure complex undergoing multi-phased
refurbishment.
• Working with the client and main contractor throughout the whole refurbishment programme
• To consult on the recommended infrastructure design for IT and AV.
• Client Requirement – IP CCTV, audio visual & networking for the following areas: Feature pool, wetside changing, dryside changing, general reception, all public areas, back offices,café and bar areas, Buzz Bowling lanes, soft play area, fitness suites, studios and spin room.

OUR SOLUTION
• 29 managed IP CCTV cameras provided across the whole leisure centre (internal only).
• Category 5e, coaxial and fibre optic cabling for IP networking and audio visual provision throughout the Leisure Centre.
• A Hewlett Packard IP data switching and connectivity solution.
• Full TV & IT connectivity for the Life Fitness devices in the Fitness Suite.

RESULTS
• A flood wired facility with state of the art cabling to all areas to allow for day one connectivity and future planned expansion.
• A fast Gigabit network with Quality of Service (QoS) applied for Voice over IP telephony (VoIP) and multiple POS devices.
